Besan laddu is a sweet prepared and liked all over India in all occasion more particularly on Diwali, Ganapati festival, Raksha bandhan, Holi...etc.

It is very delicious, satisfying and  a sweet favourit of children, young and old alike. Made of besan & ghee as prime ingredients. it can be preserved for days without spoiling the taste.


Besan Laddu


This recipe gets its unique and mouth watering flavor, taste and aroma from ghee, roasted gram flour, cardamom and dry fruits. It is very easy and simple to prepare.




Ingredients:



250 gms gram flour (besan)

250 gms powdered sugar

150 gms ghee 
8-10 almonds chopped
8-10 cashew nuts chopped
8-10 pistachios chopped
1 tsp green cardamom powder


Method:


1. Heat ghee in a pan/kadai, add gram flour, roast on low heat. Keep constantly
    stirring to  avoid lumps. 

2. When a nice aroma is given out, besan starts releasing ghee & turns light brown
     in color remove it from heat. This may take 10-12 mins.

3. Transfer it to a bowl & let it cool.    

4. Now add powered sugar, nuts, cardamom powder & mix thoroughly.

5. Shape into even sized laddus.

6. Garnish with chopped pistachio, cashew nut & almond.

7. Cool completely & store in  airtight container.

Tips:


1. Make sure you roast besan till  a nice aroma is given out, besan starts releasing
    ghee & turns light brown else it will give a raw taste to the laddus.

2. You can also garnish laddus with silver vark .

3. if roasted besan  becomes dry, making it difficult to make balls, add 1-2 tbsp of
    hot ghee to mixture.

4. If mixture becomes too soft, you can refrigerate mixture for 8-10 mins.
