(Carrot Halwa)


Gajar Ka Halwa a winter delight, this creamy, delicious, rich Indian delicacy is no less than a treat. Gajar ka halwa is a blend of grated carrot, milk, mawa, sugar, cardamom powder and
a lot of dry 
fruits.

Gajar ka halwa is a very easy and simple recipe, you just need carrot, milk, sugar, ghee and some dry fruits. A perfect sweet dish to celebrate any sweet occasion !!!

Ingredients:


7-8 gajar (carrots)
1 cup milk
250 gms mawa (khoya)
4-5 almond chopped
4-5 cashew nut chopped
4-5 pistachio chopped
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
2 tbsp ghee
275 gms sugar

Method:


1. Wash, peel and grate carrot.

2. Pressure cook carrot with milk upto 2 whistle.

3. When pressure subsides, open the cooker, transfer pressure cooked 
   carrot in a heavy bottom pan, add mawa, almond, pistachio, cashew 
   nut and cook stirring continuously till all the milk evaporates.

4. Now add sugar, cardamom powder, cook on medium flame till halwa
    thickens.

5. Add ghee and cook for another 2-3 mins.

6. Transfer halwa into s serving bowl, garnish with chopped almond and
     pistachio.

7. Serve warm or cold as you desire.

Tips:


1.You can cook carrot in milk in place of pressure cooker.

2. Saffron and raisins can also be added in halwa.

3. You can also use condensed milk in place of sugar.
